West Oaks Hospital to Participate in National Alcohol Screening Day, April 10, 2008

The 10th annual National Alcohol Screening Day (NASD) is scheduled Thursday, April 10, 2008, providing outreach, screening, and education about alcohol's effects on health at thousands of locations around the United States.

National Alcohol Screening Day (NASD) is held each year as part of Alcohol Awareness month.  It is a program of the nonprofit organization screening for Mental Health, Inc. in collaboration with the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).  Screenings will be held across the country at many hospitals, alcohol and addiction treatment centers, primary care offices, and colleges.

Alcohol use can lead to severe health issues and family problems.  Learn where to draw the line.  Participants will listen to a presentation on alcohol problems, they will complete a written self test, and have the opportunity to talk privately with a health professional, all for free.

West Oaks Hospital, located at 6500 Hornwood Drive, Houston, TX 77074 will again be participating by offering these free, anonymous screenings at their facility on April 10th from 9:00 am to 5:00 p.m.
